City Council to Hold Public Hearing on Proposed Sign Ordinance Amendments

Nov 23, 2015 at 09:29 am by Bryan Barrett

Following numerous public meetings between the Planning Commission and City staff and subsequent revisions to the originally proposed City Sign Ordinance amendments, the City Council held a public hearing and discussed revised proposed ordinance amending provisions regarding temporary signs on November 19.

However, in order to give the community another opportunity to comment on the proposed amendments, the council is holding a second public hearing on Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, in City Council Chambers.

Business owners, sign companies, realtors, homebuilders and members of the community are invited to attend the public hearing.

The public hearing deals with proposed amendments to the City Sign ordinance regarding temporary and exempt signs. The proposed amendment for temporary signs increases the permitted amount from 15 percent to 25 percent.

The Revised Proposed Sign Ordinance Amendments concerning Temporary Signs and Exempt Signs are available for review on the City website. We have a link to their site on ours, wgnsradio.com.
