Joel Andrew Holmes of La Vergne man was shot in the head, assasination style, while dropping off his children at their mother's around 7:00 o'clock Wednesday night (8/25/11) in the parking lot of the Summit Apartments in Antioch. Metro Police feel that 28-year old man was a specific target in the incident. Holmes is in stable condition at Vanderbilt Medical Center. 

Police arrested 25-year old Barry Dean Haislip, Jr. in connection with the shooting. He reportedly admitted to officials that he walked up to Holmes and shot while the victim's five and one-year old watched. Haislip is at the Metro Nashville Detention Center with his bond set at $100,000.
