Recycle Christmas Trees

If you had a cut Christmas tree this year, don't dispose of it in the landfill--recycle it! It will be chipped and used for mulch. The main thing to remember, all decorations, tinsel, flocking or anything artificial must be removed first.

Murfreesboro

If you live in Murfreesboro, the easiest thing is to leave your cut tree on the roadway beside your garbage cans. The Solid Waste Department will get cut trees on the days of your scheduled pickup.

Total County

All Rutherford County residents can also take cut trees to the Murfreesboro Public Works at 4765 Florence Road. They are open only on Monday and Tuesday as well as Thursday and Friday. The hours are 6:00 those mornings until 3:55 each afternoon. Again, make certain the tree is free of lights, plastic wrapping or anything artificial. For information on this free service, phone 615-893-3681.

Smyrna

Smyrna residents may take their cut Christmas tree to the Lee Victory Recreation Park, off the Sam Ridley Parkway. Look for the designated area next to the football field.

La Vergne

La Vergne residents should take cut trees to that city's Public Works Building at 148 International Boulevard, off Waldron Road.
