Pedestrian Hit Shortly Before 5AM Wednesday

Around 4:58 Wednesday morning (1/27/2016), Murfreesboro Police responded to a call at Tiger Mart on South Church Street about a pedestrian being hit.

Murfreesboro Police spokesperson Amy Norville told NewsRadio WGNS that Hazel Barrett was hit by a vehicle traveling toward downtown (north) on South Church when it struck her.

Paramedics from Rutherford County Emergency Services rushed Ms. Barrett to the ER at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. She was then taken to the Trauma Center at Vanderbilt.

On Wednesday afternoon, a spokesperson at Vanderbilt told WGNS that Hazel Barrett's condition is now listed as stable. Barrett is currently in the Trauma unit.
