A Murfreesboro woman was the victim of fraud. The victim told police that she found an online ad about the Hollister Company hiring. She said she contacted the subject who placed the ad and the person told her that she would be hired. The next day, the 18 year old woman received a $2,800 check in the mail.

According to the police report, the woman deposited the check into her bank account and then wired $970 to a man in Florida. The female said the Hollister Company told her to send the money to a Sean Breese in Florida so that he could order her work equipment. The woman was then told to send $930 more dollars to the Florida subject.

The victim learned a day or so later, that the check was no good. By text message, the person claiming to be with Hollister told her not to worry because another check would be cut. Just as promised, another check arrived in the mail. This time, the check was made out for over $7,000.

When the victim tried to deposit the new check, the bank told her that her account had been closed due to fraudulent activity. She quickly learned that she had been scammed and called Murfreesboro Authorities.

The case has been labeled as a Fraud and Theft, but no arrests have been made.
