A young Murfreesboro girl by the name of Melissa Hathaway went missing on Center Hill Lake over the Labor Day weekend. Reports indicate that close to a dozen emergency aid agencies helped to search for the small child after she went missing from the Hidden Harbor Marine. Evidently, the child and her family had been staying on a houseboat over the extended weekend. After 10-hours of searching for the child on land and in the water, crews eventually found the girls lifeless body in Center Hill Lake. Apparently, the child had drowned. Divers from the Rutherford County Special Operations Unit found Hathaway on Monday. Hathaway was not wearing a life jacket and reports indicate she had trouble walking and was not a strong swimmer.
