Arrest Made in Eagle Street Murder that took place in February in Murfreesboro

On February 7, 2016 at 5:55p.m., Murfreesboro Police Officers responded to 1306 Eagle Street to investigate a shooting. Officers arrived and located 20-year old victim Tijuandre Garrett who suffered a gunshot wound to the upper torso. He was transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital where he died shortly after arrival.

Through the course of the investigation, Detectives developed Juan Carlos Carachure of Nashville as a suspect. Warrants for his arrest were obtained under charges of First Degree Murder and Aggravated Robbery.

On Tuesday morning (3/1/16), at 5:30a.m., with the assistance of Metro Nashville Police Department SWAT, a search warrant was executed at the Carachure residence where he was taken into custody. The 23 year old is being held without bond at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office.

Additionally, Metro Nashville Police Department SWAT executed a search warrant on the residence of Justin Woodard relative to the shooting. Justin Woodard, of Nashville, was arrested and charged with Criminal Conspiracy.
