On behalf of the Rutherford County Republican Party, Chairman Donna Barrett issues congratulatory statements to Greg Brooks and Rob Mitchell for their wins in the March 1, 2016 Rutherford County primary.

It is with great pleasure that the County Republican Party congratulate these two gentlemen on their reelection today. We have followed with great interest the work they had been involved with and their re-elections are well-deserved.

It has not been so long ago when winning the Democrat primary meant winning the overall race; however, with the Democrat party values having moved so extremely far away from our county values, the tables have turned and these two individuals currently face no Democrat opposition in the general election.

During his first term, Road Superintendent Greg Brooks, with his 30 years of experience in private sector business, has provided efficient and productive leadership to our County Highway Department. Rutherford County is fortunate to have his continued leadership in the department and the 940 miles of roadway in Rutherford County.

Rob Mitchell, also in his first term, has proven an excellent steward of taxpayer monies. His continued leadership and his willingness to review programs for efficiency will be a continued asset for Rutherford County.

We look forward to continued great leadership from both individuals and their worthwhile community projects.
