Middle Tennessee State University President Sidney A. McPhee has been honored for his support of teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education.
Director of AdvancED Tennessee Connie J. Smith cited the university's efforts in the areas of primary, secondary and higher education.
Dr. McPhee received the honor from the AdvancED Tennessee, a nonprofit accrediting organization, during a two-day on-campus conference that attracted hundreds of public, private and parochial educators, school board members, superintendents and principals to learn and reflect on ways to best extend STEM education.
