A group of people are going from city to city to pass forged prescriptions and some from the group have landed in Murfreesboro. A local pharmacist caught wind of the activity and noticed that one of her patients brought in a prescription that was written on a Sunday. The pharmacist found that odd and also found it odd that the prescription for Lortab was written by a dentist in Memphis, Tennessee. The prescription called for 90 of the painkillers. The exact same prescription turned up at a second pharmacy on the same day. A third prescription was also handed to another pharmacy. In a third case, the person who turned in the prescription was seeking 180 painkillers. The prescriptions were not filled, and the person who brought them in was not caught.
