The James E. Walker Library at MTSU will welcome the second President of the United States, The Honorable John Adams, to campus at 1:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, September 14th.
President Adams will discuss his life and career in front of the library’s first floor exhibit, “John Adams: Unbound,” which will be on display through Friday, Sept. 30. Funded by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, the exhibit reveals Adams’ personal library. This remarkable collection of 3,500 books was deposited in the Boston Public Library in 1894.
George Baker, the President’s alter ego, is a practicing attorney with Hawthorne Ackerly & Dorrance LLC in Connecticut.. He has portrayed John Adams in period clothing throughout the country at venues such as the Dwight D. Eisenhower Presidential Library in Abilene, Kan., and the Senator Robert Dole Institute of Politics at Kansas University. Baker also has been featured as John Adams on National Public Radio’s weekend program “Studio 360.”
