Man Arrested for a Jewelry Theft in Murfreesboro

Murfreesboro Police reported that they noticed a man stumbling across the New Salem Highway down from the local jail and quickly stopped to see what was wrong with the subject. The police report shows that Mr. Matthew Johnson agreed to be searched by a police officer and inside his pockets were jewelry that belonged to a female.

As police investigated the situation further, the jewelry was confirmed to belong to a Battle Avenue woman. Officers recovered the jewelry and returned it to the 50-year old female.

33 Year old Johnson was charged with theft and public intoxication.
