Ram's Road Warnings Through April 30th

Spring has sprung and Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warns motorists where to expect potential traffic jams that are brought about by construction work today through April 30th.

City Construction Projects

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Ridgley Road and W College Street for underground utility crossing. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for utility crossing and general construction work. W Lytle Street and a short segment of College St and Burton St are also closed to traffic for construction work. Retaining wall work continues as part of the southwest and southeast ramps for the new overpass. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Sewer Pump Station Project (NW Broad St at Battlefield Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5 pm: Contractor for Water & Sewer Department will be installing sewer lines within TDOT right-of-way/Battlefield Pkwy. A small section of Battlefield Pkwy is closed. Underground bore work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

W Lytle Street Relocation Project (NW Broad St to Barker St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: W Lytle Street is also closed to traffic at NW Broad Street for construction work. Underground utility work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: The contractor has implemented the next phase of the traffic control plan on Middle Tennessee Blvd. Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd has been shifted to the east side and reduced to two lanes between E Main St and Greenland Dr (near the tennis courts). E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd are only open to local traffic. Appropriate traffic controls and detours signs will be in place.

Murfreesboro Water & Sewer Rehabilitation Work

1) Sulphur Springs Rd between Haynes Dr and 2409 Sulphur Springs Rd - 4/25 to 4/29

2) Morgan Rd between Haynes and 2515 Morgan Rd - 4/29

3) Haynes Dr between 210 - 422 Haynes Dr - 4/25 to 4/28

4) Greenland Dr between Old Lascasss Rd and Brown Dr - 4/25 & 4/28 (night work 8 pm to 6 am)

5) Oak Dr between 1932 Oak Dr to 2001 Oak Dr - 4/25 & 4/26

6) Manson Pike between Bill Smith Dr and Brookwood Ln - 4/25 & 4/26

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: The contractor for Water & Sewer Department will be performing manhole rehabilitation/repairs of the sewer lines. Traffic will be reduced to one lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

TDOT Roadway Improvement Project (Singer Road between NW Broad St and CSX Railroad)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday, March 14 - Wednesday, August 31: The contractor for TDOT will be closing Singer Rd between NW Broad St and CSX Tracks to make roadway improvements. Access to and from businesses and residents will be from Florence Road. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Private Development Roadway Improvement Work (Veterans Pkwy just north of Old Fort Pkwy)

Expected Minor Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be performing roadway improvement on Veterans Pkwy just north of Old Fort Pkwy. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

New Sewer Service Installation Work (Hickerson Dr between W Castle St and S Front St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 2:30 pm: Contractor for a private development will be installing sewer service on Hickerson Dr. There will be minor traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (Burton St/Church St)

Expected Lane Closures: Tuesday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm: Construction crews will be removing a tree on Burton St between Maple St and Church St. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls and detours will be in place.

Private Development Paving and Striping Project (E Main St between Baird Ln and College Heights St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for a private development will be paving and striping E Main St between Baird Ln and College Heights St. Traffic on E Main St will be reduced to one-lane flagging operation. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Annual City Street Paving Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM: City paving contractor will be milling/paving the following streets: Avenal Ct, Crown Hill Dr, Northwoods Cove, Henry Hall, Victoria Dr, Cornwall Ct, Leeds Ct, Rye Ct, Langtry Ct, Fairfax Dr, Flower Park, Jackson Rd & General Kirk Dr. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
