The 10th Annual Murfreesboro Half Marathon will be held Saturday, October 8th.

Because the course runs by the geographic center of Tennessee and begins and ends at Middle Tennessee State University, it has been tagged "The Middle Half". The flat course is a favorite for runners; many state records have been broken at the event.

Registration opens at noon (CST) June 1st. The popular race has sold out eight of the past nine years.

"A few years ago we sold out within two hours of opening registration", said Melinda Tate, race director. "The year before it had taken a month, so everyone was surprised at the quick sellout."

The course goes down scenic tree-lined Main Street and Maney Avenue to Oaklands Mansion. Runners will circle the Rutherford County Courthouse on the Square, pass by MTSU's Fraternity Row and the obelisk on Old Lascassas, and then finish on the MTSU track.
