There has been a SECOND ATM robbery in Murfreesboro. This marks the second in the last two days. The victim in the second robbery was withdrawing money from a Fifth Third Bank on Rutherford Blvd. when he was approached by two black males, one armed with a handgun. At gunpoint, the two men ordered the victim to withdraw $100. After getting the money, the men told the victim that they would give him 6-seconds to run. A good Samaritan who saw the crime unfold followed the two robbers to an apartment complex on Rutherford Blvd. The witness then called the police. While watching the two men climb steps to an upstairs unit, the man armed with the gun turned and fired on the good Samaritan. The bullet hit the witnesses’ truck. No one was injured and police now have a major clue in solving the ATM robbery cases. An arrest is pending.
