Three Cannon County residents have been indicted by a Cannon County Grand Jury on attempted murder charges. James W. Hill allegedly beat his landlord, leaving him lying injured in a mobile home kitchen and then poured gasoline throughout the kitchen, lighting it on fire. Charlotte Hill and Mary Virginia Hill were said to be present at the time and possibly involved in the arson as well. All three of the Hills now face attempted 1st degree murder, especially aggravated robbery, aggravated arson, and aggravated burglary charges. The victim, Lonnie Estes, was able to crawl out of the burning mobile home and to safety. The Hills will appear in court in the near future.
