WGNS is taking an active role in changing the way that information is communicated between city government and the media, and between the media and the listener.  WGNS's Zach Troutman was one of three panelists participating in a discussion at the Tennessee Association for Municipal Clerks and Recorders conference, at the Embassy Suites convention center on Thursday.  Other panelists included the Daily News Journal's Jimmy Hart, and Neysa Taylor of News Channel 5.  Panel leader Mimi Bliss says the goal is for government and the media to learn how to more effectively exchange news and information, and asking media representatives what they're looking for directly is one way to learn that.  The conference concludes Friday, and for more information, you can visit TAMCAR.org.
