Tennessee State Parks will host three Girls Outdoors (GO!) workshops this fall at Chickasaw State Park, David Crockett State Park and Justin P. Wilson Cumberland Trail State Park.
The workshops aim to provide girls ages 12-15 with an authentic experience in the great outdoors, an opportunity to learn about women working in the science and conservation fields, and the desire to foster a strong foundation in the natural world. Girls will enjoy hands-on activities - from wilderness safety lessons to canoeing and archery - as well as plenty of adventures to create lasting memories.
"These workshops are about having fun outdoors but also offer important science and biology education from local experts," said Heather Spiva with Tennessee State Parks. "We encourage young girls to develop leadership skills while exploring one of our most beautiful state parks."
