The Contributor Newspaper is a paper that gives those who have nothing hope. The paper, which is printed in nearby Nashville, Tennessee, is now sold by homeless living in Murfreesboro.

WGNS spoke to Margarita who calls the corner of Broad Street at Old Fort Parkway, her storefront. She said that she wants to sell the Contributor for not only herself, but to raise awareness of the homeless population...

Margarita, who has been homeless for the past ten years, told us that the paper has regular news items in it, but also highlights the lives of the homeless...

Mental illness has plagued 55 year old Margarita for much of her life, which is why it would be hard for her to hold down a regular 9 to 5 job.

She said that selling the newspaper will allow her the pride of work and will hopefully result in her earning enough money to get housing...

Right now, Margarita is one of five homeless people in Murfreesboro who will be selling the Contributor newspaper. If you ask, she will even deliver the paper to your office weekly when a new edition comes out on Tuesdays.
