Tennessee College of Applied Technology Murfreesboro /Smyrna Campus held their first class on Friday, October 28th at the new $30 million training facility located at 663 Ken Pilkerton Drive in Smyrna, TN.
The class focused on Robot Safety, which is part of the Industrial Electrical Maintenance program that will be offered at the training facility. The class offered hands on training with brand new equipment including a Fanuc robot and a Twin Pneumatic Trainer SMC that was donated to the college.
The TCAT Murfreesboro /Smyrna Campus will official open full-time for students beginning January 4, 2017. The facility will offer programs including Automotive Technology, Machine Tool Technology, Industrial Electrical Maintenance, and Welding. Future programs will include Collision Repair and Tool & Die.
"We are excited to be able to expand our programs with this new training facility and offer students top notch hands-on training with state-of-the-art equipment", said Dr. Lynn Kreider, Director of TCAT Murfreesboro / Smyrna Campus.
