The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, along with the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, is working to identify a female who was found dead behind a BP gas station located at 10016 Highway 70E in Crab Orchard at approximately 4:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon (10/4/2011).

Investigators need the public’s help recognizing a tattoo the victim has on her right calf that could lead to her identity. There are names along with what appears to be the numbers 2000, 2001 and 2005 tattooed inside the wings of the butterflies. She was found nude and her cause of death is unknown at this time. The state Medical Examiner’s Office will perform an autopsy to determine cause of death. Authorities believe she may be from the Knoxville area. If anyone has information about the woman, they are urged to call the TBI at 1-800-TBI-FIND.
