The Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce will host the ninth annual Creating the Balance women’s conference on Friday, October 28th, at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center in Murfreesboro.

The conference, presented by State Farm, is a one-day event designed to bring area women together to learn, network, discuss and grow. The keynote speaker for this year’s event will be Kelly Swanson, a comedian and motivational speaker, who will bring her message, “Stand Up and Stick Out,” to Rutherford County.

In addition to the keynote speech, attendees will participate in topical breakout sessions, including “Leave Your Crazy in the Parking lot,” featuring mental health experts Janice Barkley, Alesha Martin, Sandy Starrett, Linda Miller and Abby Beagle, “The Simplicity of Following Your Dream,” led by entrepreneurs Bobby and Erica Griggs and “Social Nudity: Uncovering the Naked Truth About Social Media,” facilitated by Lori Hoyt and Jimmy Pitts. Vendors will also be on hand with helpful information and fun shopping opportunities.

“We’re excited about everything the conference has to offer this year at such an affordable price,” said Stephanie Brackman, vice president of operations for the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. “We want each attendee to learn valuable information that they can take with them and relate to their work or personal life, and do so in an energetic, fun-filled environment.”
