Mayor and Council Praise Murfreesboro Firefighters Assisting in East Tennessee

City council took time out of their Thursday night meeting to commend the Murfreesboro Fire Department for their efforts in assisting the wildfires in East Tennessee.

The death toll has now risen to 13 from the fires. In other council news, resolutions for zoning land along Osbourne Lane to Commercial Fringe District, adoption of a Plan of Services and annexation of land along Thompson Lane, annexing of land along West Thompson Lane, and a Plan of Services along Mankin Road were all passed by council.

Council also heard recommendations from Murfreesboro City Schools and Finance & Administrative Services Director regarding approving contracts with Johnson + Bailey Architects and Romach, Inc. for more rooms at Black Fox School in Murfreesboro, which was passed.
