Steve Sax is no longer the head of the Murfreesboro Electric Department. On Wednesday (1/26/17), the Power Board voted to remove Sax as the general manager.

Apparently, Sax was accused of giving raises to employees without proper board approval.

Murfreesboro Electric Department Controller P.D. Mynatt will act as the interim general manager during the search for the next department head. The Murfreesboro Electric Department Power Board is tasked with the search for a full time general manager.

In the meantime, Sax will continue to be paid without playing a role at the office. He previously announced plans to retire at the end of August this year.
