Thirty seven Year old Edward Vanepps has been arrested for "Solicitation of a minor to commit child rape" in Murfreesboro.

Vanepps, who goes by the nickname of "Ed," allegedly attempted to pay the mother of a seven year old to have sex with her daughter.

The man was located at the Baymont Inn on Armory Drive near I-24 Tuesday (2/21/17). Officers took the man into custody and transported him to the Murfreesboro Police Department for questioning.

During a police interview Vanepps reportedly admitted to offering to pay the mother of the seven year old $100 to have sex with her child. The man also admitted to sending text to the mother stating that he had sexual relations with an eight-year-old girl in the past. Another text suggested that he has sold children in the past for sex to make money. The man later said that he made up those statements in his text in an attempt to make the mother feel more comfortable with the idea.

The mother of the child felt anything but comfortable with the texts and immediately notified police about the incident.

The Atlas Street man remains in custody at this time at the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 24, 2017.
