A 31-year old Woodbury man and a 24-year old Smithville woman were arrested after suspicious activity was reported at Aspen Heights Apartments.
Murfreesboro Police Officer Cory Schalburg reports being called to Old Castle Drive Saturday afternoon around 4 o'clock. That's when he ran into Richard Tenpenny, who he reports knowing as a convicted felon who was armed.
He was in a Chevy Impala with two others. After reportedly refusing to take his hands out of his pocket, he was taken to the ground and arrested. Inside his coat pocket, Officer Schalburg reported finding several baggies with over two-and-a-half ounces of meth and several additional smaller baggies he says were ready for resale. In addition, Tenpenny was found to have a loaded 45-caliber handgun in his waistband. It turns out that gun was reported missing out here locally.
The woman in the back seat, Kristin Woodard, fled from the scene. Officer Trey Mansfield located the woman near the gate to the apartment complex and she was arrested after a check revealed two active warrants. She also faces resisting arrest and criminal impersonation charges.
Tenpenny is jailed on 26-thousand dollars bond on charges of manufacture, delivery and sale of schedule two drugs, possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of drug parapharnalia, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.
