Nissan Recalls 2012 Versa Autos

Nissan is recalling more than 54-thousand 2012 Versa compact cars because both curtain and seat-mounted airbags might deploy when the door is slammed.

Officials say that the problem may be caused by the degradation of side impact sensor connector pins.

Unexpected airbag deployment creates a risk of injury for those in the Nissan Versa.

Nissan North America reports that dealers will install a new jumper harness and replace the side impact sensors at no charge.

If you own a 2012 Nissan Versa, contact the manufacturer's customer service number: 1-800-647-7261 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4238. You can also visit their website: www.safecar.gov.
