UPDATE: Amazon.com Still Looking at Murfreesboro

Oct 20, 2011 at 06:26 am by Bryan Barrett

The City of Murfreesboro Planning Commission will likely approve site plans for Amazon.com. The proposed site for the company lies on 87-acres on the Joe B. Jackson Parkway. The company aims to build a 1.3-million square foot warehouse on the property. If Amazon.com moves forward with their plans, they will create 1200 new jobs in Murfreesboro. At this point, the company has yet to give the green light on moving forward. The city hopes to have a positive answer from Amazon in the very near future. If Amazon does move forward with construction, then they will be given a tax abatement of approximately $15-million dollars over a 20-year period.
