Another fraud case involving fake money for items sold online in Murfreesboro has been reported to police.
This past week a Murfreesboro resident sold two pairs of Nike Jordan Brand shoes to a subject that contacted him on the internet. The resident was selling the shoes on the LetGo app.
Evidently, the seller met with the buyer in the parking lot of Walmart on Old Fort Parkway to make the transaction. Once in front of the store, he met with the culprit who paid him cash for the shoes. Later, when the victim returned home, he noticed the bills were counterfeit. The buyer gave the man seven fake twenty dollar bills.
At this point an arrest has not been made. The only details police have to go by is that the buyer was a white male driving an older model Ford Focus that was beige in color. The man also used the name of "Harry PairOf" on the app.
