Center Hill Lake is a popular fishing destination for residents far and wide. Many go there during the summer to unwind. Over this past year though, the lake has set a new record of deaths. In 2011, eight people have lost their life on Center Hill Lake and two people have gone missing. In 2010, there was only one life lost at Center Hill Lake. No word on why there was such an upswing in 2011.

On Tuesday, divers spent the day searching for Jerry Boyd, the latest person to go missing on the lake. Boyd went missing after the canoe he was in overturned. His friend made it out of the canoe and swam to shore, but Boyd never resurfaced after going under.
