The importance of being aware of students and school zones came into focus Wednesday afternoon when a student was hit by a car on Warrior Drive.

Murfreesboro Police said the 14-year old was hit by a vehicle in the Riverdale High School school zone.

Officials report that the teen was rushed to the ER at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital with minor injuries.
