Local Cadets Conduct 9/11 Ceremony in Smyrna, TN

On Monday, September Eleventh, 2017 the Stewarts Creek High School JROTC program will be conducting their annual 9/11 ceremony at Stewarts Creek High School at 2:00 pm.

The program's battalion commander, Cadet LTC Jennifer Cen had this to say in regards to the ceremony, "It is a honor to commemorate the tragic events of 9/11 once again by me and the Red Hawk Battalion at Stewarts Creek High School. It is important to us that you (the press) will be present to document and publish the ceremony to bring awareness to this event."

The third annual ceremony will be presided over by the Red Hawk Battalion's commander, C/LTC Jennifer Cen. Past ceremonies have been accompanied with a flag retirement ceremony and appearances made by Christopher Ballard, Dr Clark Harrell, and members from the VFW and VA, among others. Members of the School's choir ,band ,and production team assist with the execution of the event as well.

There are two portions to the event, the first of which is open to all members of the community as each and every facet of life comes together in remembrance of those that fell on that second day, with the second portion being a private flag retirement ceremony for veterans and those who wish to bring in flags for retirement.
