Rogers Park was the sight of a police foot chase, with guns drawn, after reports of subjects there after hours.

Murfreesboro Police Officer Thomas Troutman arrived at 1115 Hunt Street just after 8 o'clock Wednesday night to three black males sitting on a picnic table, reportedly smoking marijuana.

The suspects all fled when they saw the officer. When nearing Sycamore Circle, Officer Troutman saw one of the suspects reach into his waistband to retrieve a silver handgun. The officer then pulled his weapon. It was at that time, the suspects jumped a privacy fence, where the pursuit ended.

Officer Troutman was able to recover a cell phone from the picnic table inside the park, which was entered into evidence.
