Congressman Marsha Blackburn has announced she will run for the U.S. Senate seat being given up by Senator Bob Corker.
Blackburn's office says the announcement came after many days of what her office says was "recruitment by grassroots Tennessee conservatives."
Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, who had been thought to be considering a run for the seat, announced Thursday he'd decided against it.
Other Republican names being mentioned as possible candidates include former State Representative Stephen Fincher and former Lascassas State Representative Joe Carr.
