Mathers Mr. Football Finalist for Second Year

Rutherford County has another T-Double-S-Double-A Tennessee Titans Mr. Football finalist. For the second year in a row, Blackman's I'Tavious Mathers is nominiated. The award is presented to the top 10 backs and linemen in five classifications. A committee of statewide sports writers selected winners based on performance in the 2011 regular season.  Academics and character were also taken into consideration.  High school head coaches and members of the media nominated the finalists. Mathers has rushed for over 22-hundred yards and 25-touchdowns in 10-games this season. An awards ceremony will take place Monday, November 28th at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Conference Center here in Murfreesboro. For the Class Triple-A Back of the Year, Mathers is joined by Brian Kimbrow of Memphis East and Patton Robinette of Maryville as finalists.
