Murfreesboro Airport Runway Could be Extended

Nov 09, 2011 at 06:04 am by Bryan Barrett

The City of Murfreesboro Airport is requesting an expansion from the city. The runway extension project would extend the runway by about 1,000 feet. According to officials with the airport, the extension would fit the airports needs for the next 10 to 20-years. The extension would also allow jets to land at the airport. MTSU aimed to purchase a Jetstream 31 twin prop plane last year but could not due to the length of the current runway. With the improvement, if approved, then MTSU could graduate to the larger plane for students to learn on.
