Heritage South Community Credit Union recently moved its Murfreesboro office to their new building at 839 West College Street. A Grand Opening to celebrate the new office will be held November 14th-18th.

“We are delighted to expand our credit union and its services to members in Murfreesboro and Rutherford County,” Heritage South CEO Marvin McBee commented. “Heritage South’s membership in Rutherford County has grown tremendously since 2006 when we first opened an office in Murfreesboro.”

The new location features expanded lobby, more offices, internet banking kiosk, and a four-lane drive-thru and convenient drive-up ATM. A coin-counting machine is also available free for credit union members.

“We welcome everyone to visit us soon, especially during our Grand Opening week,” Darlene Robinson, branch manager said. “On Friday, at 4 p.m. we will draw a lucky member’s name to be our ‘Millionaire for a Day’. This member will receive a cash prize of more than $2,500 plus a limo ride to their favorite Murfreesboro restaurant, and the credit union will even pay for dinner!”

“Our Grand Opening is symbolic of what our credit union is all about, helping our members,” Robinson commented. “As our community’s credit union, anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school can join Heritage South. We hope you’ll come by this week to visit and consider membership.”

To join, a dollar membership fee is required and a minimum deposit of $5 in a share/savings account. As a cooperative, members are owners of the credit union.

Heritage South was established in 1957 as EPCO Credit Union in Shelbyville at the Empire Pencil Company. There were approximately 15 charter members and now more than 20,000 area residents are members. The first office was a small room at the Empire plant. The name changed in 2006 to Heritage South Community Credit Union when the organization was granted a community charter. This provided the credit union the opportunity to provide services to anyone who works, lives, worships or attends school in Bedford, Marshall and Rutherford County. Offices are located in Murfreesboro, Shelbyville and Lewisburg. Heritage South is federally insured by the NCUA.
