Shane Reeves wins the Republican primary against Joe Carr in the 14th State Senate special election. NewsRadio WGNS' Bart Walker was at the Reeves campaign headquarters to catch up with the Republican nominee:
Again - Reeves will face Democratic challenger Gayle Jordan, who was unopposed in primary. That election will be in March.
In Rutherford County, Reeves received 2,155 votes or 66% to Joe Carr's 1,099 votes or 34%. District wide, Reeves garnered 4,720 votes or 65% to Carr's 2,556 votes or 35%.
The 14th State Senate district includes the eastern half of Rutherford County along with all of Bedford, Marshall, Moore and Lincoln Counties.
The special election was called when Jim Tracy was appointed by the Trump Administration to a statewide position with the USDA.
