Stabbing report - One arrest made in Murfreesboro

On Monday evening around 7:30, Murfreesboro Police responded to a stabbing that allegedly took place in a field near the Speedway Gas Station on the New Salem Highway (1643 New Salem Hwy).

Apparently, a woman was sitting inside her friend's car when a man whom she recognized approached her, punched her and then grabbed her cellphone. The culprit then fled the scene with the female victim giving chase. A fight broke out in a nearby field in which ended with the accused suspect being stabbed by the female victim.

The Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the case. At this point one arrest has been made. 32 Year old Teon Parham was arrested and charged with theft and robbery. He was able to bond out of the Rutherford County Jail Tuesday (5/8/18).
