Man to face 4 Rape of a Child Charges after arrest by Rutherford Co. Sheriff's Detective

Rutherford County Sheriff's Detective Andrea Knox will be in court as one of the subjects she arrested in 2017 appears before Judge David Bragg. Knox investigates cases of child rape on a daily basis in our community.

The suspect whom she arrested was Michael Robert Gaskill. The man was charged with four counts of "Rape of a child" and four counts of "Aggravated Sexual Battery." The arrest happened in 2017.

Michael Robert Gaskill is currently free after splitting a $150,000 bond between two bonding companies. He will be in court Friday as part of a "Status Hearing."

Detective Knox is passionate about preventing sexual abuse of children. That's why she teaches a portion of the the Darkness to Light program with the Child Advocacy Center in Murfreesboro. The program focuses on teaching parents, teachers and caregivers ways of protecting children.
