The City Council Chamber was filled to capacity and possessed an energy that is rarely present in our city's hallowed hall before the gavel even sounded to start the regular council meeting.

It's not unusual for those in attendance to have an agenda of their own and Tuesday night was no different except that most of the attendees in this audience had little interest in the proceedings after City Manager, Craig Tindall proclaimed July 12th 2018 as a day to recognize the Murfreesboro FC U15 Girls "Storm" Team on behalf of Mayor Shane McFarland.

The proclamation read in part, I "encourage all citizens to join me in recognizing and honoring the significant contributions visibility and notoriety the team and its coach have brought to our city."

The Mayor's comments also included praise for the team and coaches discipline, dedication and hard work identifying their record and effort as overwhelming to their opponents and their success as storybook.
