A woman who took her 2-year-old daughter to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro was told that injuries to the child were so serious that a transfer to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital had to be done. Without further ado, the child was taken to Vanderbilt and injuries were found to be related to possible child abuse.

The boyfriend of the woman, Joshua Orr, was then developed as a suspect in the case. Murfreesboro Police have charged 21-year-old Orr with child abuse and he will face the courts in September. His is being held behind bars under a $30,000 bond.
