Electric Car Charging Stations Rarely Used in 'Boro

The new electric car charging stations that have been installed in Murfreesboro are seldom used. The charging stations were installed by a company called ECOtality with the help of a sizeable government grant. There are seven charging stations for electric cars at the Avenue, three at the Kohls Department Store and two at the Double Tree Hotel on Old Fort Parkway. When WGNS checked the ECOtality website this morning at six, it showed that only was charging station out of the twelve was in use. That is usually the same number of users throughout the day as well, one out of twelve. The fast charging stations cost about $10,000 each.
