Publishers Clearing House Scams Affect Locals

Have you ever received an email, phone call or letter from Publishers Clearing House saying that you were a big winner?

Terrie Page of the Better Business Bureau says this scam is making its way around Rutherford County:

Page says the sweepstakes are legit, but many scams use the Publishers Clearing House name. So how do you know the difference?

Page says PCH doesn't email or call its big winners. Prizes of 500-dollars or more are sent by certified mail or the "Prize Patrol" meets winners in person. Additionally, she says winners will never have to pay PCH to receive their sweepstakes prize.
