Rutherford County Solid Waste has delivered extra open top containers to the two Recycling/Convenience Centers nearest the storm area.

Rock Springs Center at 4060 Rock Springs Road and Christiana/Fosterville Center at 8101 Shelbyville Pike are the two centers.

These two Centers will be open Thursday for the acceptance of storm debris. White goods and scrap metal should be placed into the metal recycling container.
Building materials should be broken down and stacked as best as possible into open top bulk item containers. Furniture and similar items should be placed into open top bulk item containers. Household trash should be placed in the trash compactor.

Tree and vegetation debris should be taken to the Rutherford County Landfill.

Household hazardous waste should be saved at residence location for a special collection (date and location to be determined by TDEC and County very soon).

Thursday is usually a closed day for All Centers. RCSW employees have volunteered to work their day off to open these two centers to assist the residents that have experienced damage or debris on their property from their neighbor's property.

The intention is NOT for other residents to use this opportunity to dispose of their normal trash!
