La Vergne Police Sergeant Bob Hayes reports that the Ford Fusion and Jeep Patriot taken Sunday have been recovered, but the suspects are still at large.
Surveillance video at Walmart in La Vergne showed that just before noon on Sunday (12/2/2018), two unidentified black males and 1 unidentified black female drove a red Ford Fusion into the parking lot at 5511 Murfreesboro Road. At that point, the trio allegedly took a powder blue Jeep Patriot.
La Vergne Police Sergeant Hayes said, "One of the suspects exited the Ford and approached the victim and displayed a handgun. The suspect then demanded her purse and keys to her vehicle. Suspect #1 and the female suspect then got into the victim's Jeep and fled the scene. The 3rd suspect followed in the Ford Fusion."
The Ford Fusion was recovered by later Metro Police in neighboring Nashville, and the Jeep Patriot was found by the La Vergne Police.
Sergeant Hayes told NewsRadio WGNS that all suspects were African-Americans and were in their late teens to mid twenties. The female was dark skinned and had a thin build. They are considered to be armed and dangerous.
