Dec 03, 2018 at 11:59 pm by Bryan Barrett

A crash over the weekend on Fortress Boulevard took the lives of two teens. Murfreesboro Police say it happened about 6pm Saturday near Blackman Elementary when 18-year old Eric King's 2005 GMC Sierra traveled into the opposite lane, hitting a 2018 Nissan Titan.

A passenger in King's truck, a 17-year old, was also killed in the crash. The occupants of the Nissan Titan, 46-year old William Stephens, who was the driver and 42-year old Christy Stephens, the passenger, were taken to Stonecrest Medical Center and treated for their injuries. They are both from Rockvale.

Both King and the 17-year old were ejected during the crash and were no wearing seat belts.

King was a 2018 graduate of Smyrna High School. Visitation will be held from 2-to-8pm Wednesday at Woodfin Chapel-Smyrna. Funeral services will be there Thursday morning at 11.

The crash remains under investigation by Murfreesboro Police.
