In addition, the governing body honored Polly Wall Balakhani and the Omni Hut, a long-time family business that closed and was a strong part of this community's history.

The evening's business included plans to name the new Bridge Over Broad as the Blue Raider Bridge. Commissioner Read commented . . .

The Public Works and Planning Committee put forward a resolution to eliminate all free services at the county landfill. There will be a $30 per ton charge for brush, tires would no longer be accepted at convenience centers and a fee of $1 per passenger tire would be charged, or $65 per ton. This would become effective July 1, 2019.

In addition, it was decided to waive building permit fees that resulted from the November tornado.
