Somewhere between 1.5 to 1.8 million prisoners are serving their sentences in jails in America. Greater the percentage of prisoners, greater the challenge to all those engaged in prison ministries all over America.
Today, we find a new color being added to some Churches in their Sunday morning worship services. The orange colored clothes-wearing Prisoners are finding heartfelt acceptance in Churches across Murfreesboro which was started by New Vision Prison Ministry, the special permissions being granted to prison Inmates on special conditions and extra-ordinary escort arrangements for the sole purpose of attending Sunday morning Church services is giving a new hope and a new lease of life to the recipient Prisoners.
New Vision Prison and Law Enforcement Ministries is at the forefront of reaching out to the prisoners with the liberating Word of God in the blessed state of Tennessee. It's been 10 years since the work got started.
New Vision Prison Ministry hosted their Eighth Annual Operation Bless a Child Christmas event for kids of the incarcerated from Rutherford County, Warren, Coffee, Bedford and Davidson counties this past weekend. The event was at New Vision Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN.
The gifts were wrapped and presented to the kids by incarcerated parents attending the event from Rutherford County Correctional facility and Rutherford County Jail. The highlight of this event were parents who are behind bars who were allowed to visit church and gave gifts to their kids and then had a meal with them to celebrate Christmas.
