Habitat for Humanity with Development and Marketing Director Melissa Cross and Re-Store Manager Josh Chappel tell how the HABITAT FOR HUMANITY program changes lives and touches area residents.
Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity just received a $10,000 ENVIRONMENTAL GRANT from Bonnaroo for offering ways to reduce waste from going into the landfill. Chappell noted that the Re-Stores keep over 570-tons of materials ouf of the landfils each year. "RECYCLE, REUSE and REPURPOSE".
In addition, the discussion included news that persons can submit requests in April to begin the process of being considered for the Habitat home-ownership program.
Josh encouraged people who are renovating their homes, not to throw away pre-used cabinets and other items. Instead they should call HABITAT at 615-849-5994 and they will pick-up your donation. The same is true for persons who are "downsizing".
There are two (2) HABITAT RE-STORES in Rutherford County.
